At least I still consider empathy as a human trait that we should encourage and that I feel that we are born with, that it´s apart of how we express ourselves to one another.
In this world built of fear and chaos we walk around in our daily life with the knowledge of all the suffering our brothers and sisters around the world are experiencing. People die of poverty every single moment. Every single breath someone dies so that people can become rich and powerful. We have created a socitiy built on powerstructures where there are people paying with their lives. And we all know this. We all accept this. And we think it is unchangable.
All our comfort is built on natural resources that wont last forever. It is a system that steals from the Earth without ever giving back. It is a way of living that extinct entire races and that destroys oceans, mountains and forrests.
We share this world with millions and billions of other creatures and because of our intelligence we have the right to abuse them, mistreat them and put them through unimaginable suffering. Our apati is frightening, not in our hearts, but in our actions. We don´t want this but still we buy the meat that we know comes from suffering animals instead of the vegetarian or ekological alternatives that exists everywhere and isn´t even that expensive. You let your habits control your life.
And we still fight over resources and energy. About God and power when we all Know that we don´t have to, that all of us could live in peace if we wanted to, if we dared to, if we cared to.
It is so easy to stretch out a hand. To open up our eyes to the existing world problems. You are not small, you are totaly capable of making choises that will help this planet instead of choises that will help the power hungry egos destoy our beautiful home. Let us guide the Earth into the future and as an species of power show our mercy to our selves, eachother and the non-humans we share this world with.
